Most importantly, be Welcome

This blog intends to be a place to explain in a relaxed way things I’ve developed and to discuss things I want to learn about. No need to tell that the second category surpasses the first one by class-strongly-compactly-many orders of magnitude, so I hope people don’t get too annoyed for seeing me stumbling on these matters. But the nicest thing I can hope for is that you all will give your feedback on these topics.

Concerning the topics displayed here, you will find mainly Logic in different flavors, but I have only worked until now in two not-that-unrelated areas. Firstly, universal algebra, on which I did my PhD thesis, that may be conveniently described for my purposes as the application of logic to solve otherwise intractable algebraic problems. And secondly, notions of equivalence of behaviour such as bisimilarity in probabilistic processes arising from computer science. Both subjects are connected in ways that I may develop in some future posts.

The main topic I want to learn about in the near future is set theory, and as the moment of this writing very few people on my country, and actually no one in my University works on this topic, so one of my main concerns is to get people in neighboring cities discuss set theory. Since most of the stuff on this topic will be rather standard (even, elementary), it’s more likely that posts on this subject will be (first) published in my native tongue and identified with the tag “Teoría de Conjuntos”; that’s why I put a little warning sign in Spanish at the beginning of this page. Recently, the majority of posts on the site are now in Spanish, so for convenience I’ve created a category “In English”.

Happy reading and hard discussing!

Gran abrazo.
